Creating a "Safe Area" on your Plinkit site for testing purposes
This how-to walks you through setting up an area of your Plinkit site that may be used for testing purposes. Use this area to see how something looks on a page or practice embedding videos before making changes to your live site.
- Login to your Plinkit site as manager
- On your home page, click the Contents tab
- Click "add item" and select "folder"
- Give the folder an appropriate name (e.g. Playground, Sandbox, Chuck etc.)
- If you have more than one person who works on the site, it may be a good idea to put a caveat in the Description box. Something to the effect of: “This folder is for testing purposes only, do not publish”, should work.
- Save the folder.
- Return to the home page and select the Contents tab.
- Locate your home page and copy it by selecting the check box next to it and clicking the “Copy” button at the bottom of the page.
- Open the folder you created and paste the copied home page into it.
- Bring up the page you pasted and click the edit tab.
- Give the page a new title so it is easier to discern from the original.
- Add as many pages as needed to your new Safe Area. Do not Publish!
